WHAT IS IT?
Laptop ConneCT lets eligible Connecticut residents borrow a laptop and accessories for long-term use (5 years) from a participating local library.
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
You can apply for a laptop if you:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Have a valid library card
- You must also be in one of the following assistance programs:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Medicare
- HUSKY Health (Medicaid/The Children’s Health Insurance Program)

WHAT TYPE OF LAPTOP WILL I RECEIVE?
You will receive a Dell Pro 16 with Windows. It has a built-in camera for video calls, online classes, doctor appointments, and more. You will also receive a carrying case, power adapter, and charging cable.
Each laptop comes with a 5-year warranty through AGi Protect Plus. If you have issues with your laptop, you can contact the device supplier directly for help with repairs or tech support.
The warranty provides:
- Unlimited accidental damage repairs
- 5 years of battery coverage with unlimited replacements
- Prepaid shipping
- Expected turnaround time of 3–7 days
WHAT STEPS DO I NEED TO TAKE?
Before you get your laptop, you must attend two meetings at your library:
- Eligibility & Intake: A meeting with your librarian to confirm you qualify.
- Skills Training & Device Distribution: A session to learn how to use your laptop & to pick it up.
