A Year of Programs, Exhibits, and Events Culminating in a Rededication Celebration in August 2026
In 1926, the Burnham Library opened its doors to the Bridgewater community for the very first time. Today, 100 years later, the library is still serving as the cornerstone of the community.
To honor this milestone, the Burnham Library Centennial Celebration is planned to take place over an entire year, with a variety of programs, exhibits, and events to commemorate the library’s rich history and continued dedication to the community.
The year-long celebration will kick off in September 2025 with a special exhibition showcasing the history of the Burnham Library and its impact on the community. From there, a series of monthly events will be held. The year-long celebration will culminate in a grand rededication picnic event in August 2026, where the community can gather to celebrate the library’s centennial milestone. The picnic will feature food, games, music, and other family-friendly activities, providing a fun and memorable experience for all.
The Burnham Library has been a vital part of the community for a century, providing access to information, knowledge, and culture. The Centennial Celebration is a testament to our enduring importance and commitment to serving the community for generations to come.
Keep a watch for further information, event announcements, and more. We are so excited to celebrate with you!
As we celebrate this incredible milestone, The Centennial Commemorative Booklet will highlight Burnham Library’s 100-year history. It will feature a timeline and stories of key figures who have shaped our library, including Captain Burnham, Charles E. Piggott, and Dr. Susie Beris.
This is also an excellent opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to show their support while helping us bring this commemorative booklet to life. Your participation is invaluable to the success of our centennial celebration.
