SUMMARY:Virtual Author Talk: Apocalyptic Mayhem\, Lava-Spitting Llamas\, and One Very Sassy Cat: Surviving the Universe’s Most Twisted RPG with Matt Dinniman
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER & SUBMIT QUESTIONS HERE \nvia Digital Livestream or on Demand \nHold onto your heart-patterned boxers! Matt Dinniman\, New York Times bestselling author of the wildly popular (and just plain wild) Dungeon Crawler Carl series\, joins us to chat about his latest book\, A Parade of Horribles. \nAs chaos and mass panic spread outside the dungeon in the wake of Faction Wars\, Carl and Donut find themselves on the tenth floor\, where they’re forced to compete in a surprisingly normal set of tasks. Well\, normal for the dungeon. \nRaces. Get from point A to point B\, and don’t come in last. After each race\, they pick an upgrade for their vehicle and the track gets more challenging. It all seems a little too normal\, a little too simple. \nIgnore those strange glitches that are occurring with increasing frequency. Don’t listen to those whispers about what’s happening on the mysterious eleventh floor\, something the system AI calls A Parade of Horribles. Nobody\, not even the showrunners\, knows what that means. Just that the AI has ominously dubbed it “a coming-out party for the ages.” \nEverything is fine\, Crawler. I repeat\, everything is fine. \nCarl hates that it’s business as usual. The rules of this floor have taken away his agency. That just will not do. \nSo Carl is planning a party of his own. It’s a plan so dangerous\, so insane\, he can’t even consult his friends lest the AI put a stop to it. Because if it goes wrong\, it’s not just the end of Carl and Donut. No. The stakes are higher than they’ve ever been. \nRegister now for a fun-filled discussion you won’t want to miss! \nAbout the Author: \nMatt Dinniman is a writer and artist from Gig Harbor\, Washington. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling Dungeon Crawler Carl series along with several other books about the end of the world. \nHe doesn’t really hate Cocker Spaniels\, and he plays bass in one band.

SUMMARY:June Artist: Edward Muszala
DESCRIPTION:Burnham Library Presents Paintings by Edward MuszalaExhibition on View June 2 – June 26 During Library Hours\nBurnham Library is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by artist Edward Muszala from June 2 through June 26 during regular library hours. \nMuszala’s work explores atmosphere\, light\, and the subtle interactions of color found in the natural world. Drawing inspiration from his experiences as a pilot\, he paints the ever-changing qualities of air\, clouds\, sunlight\, and landscape. Through soft edges and nuanced shifts in color and value\, his work conveys feelings of calm\, openness\, and awe. \n“As a pilot\, I was aware of the constantly changing play of air and light in the atmosphere\, the warmth of the sun\, the speed of the wind\, the water in the clouds\,” Muszala writes in his artist statement. “Those subtle changes are the elements that I portray in my paintings to convey feelings of calm and awe.” \nWorking primarily in oil and encaustic on panel and canvas\, Muszala creates landscapes and atmospheric studies that celebrate the beauty and spontaneity of nature. His paintings invite viewers to pause and appreciate the quiet transitions of light and color that often go unnoticed. \nMostly self-taught\, Muszala has continued his artistic studies through courses at institutions including the Art Students League of New York\, American Folk Art Museum\, Washington Art Association\, and Fabrica Aurora in San Miguel de Allende\, Mexico. \nHis work has been featured in juried and solo exhibitions throughout Connecticut\, including recent exhibitions at the Washington Art Association\, Minor Memorial Library\, Gunn Memorial Library\, and Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens. \nThe public is invited to visit the exhibition during regular library hours. For more information\, please contact Burnham Library.
